Welcome to Hockham Deer Management Group
Initially managing the deer on Hockham Estate in Norfolk, Mark Jackson was approached by local farmers in need of deer control on their land. Based in the Thetford Forest region of Norfolk, a haven for deer, landowners were struggling to keep their crop damage to a minimum. Hence, in 2004 Hockham Deer Management Group (HDMG) was born.
With an experienced team of Field Operators HDMG was able maximise the sporting potential by offering quality deer stalking whilst minimising crop damage for the landowners benefit. Strict management plans were drawn up and adhered to so as to improve the quality and sustainability of the deer population.
As time progressed HDMG was approached by Deer Parks and Farms to assist with the annual culling, tagging and de-antlering of their herds. The HDMG team are trained in Live Capture and are able to offer a valuable service and support to Deer Farmers and Deer Parks across the country.
HDMG offer stalking for Red, Roe & Muntjac in one of the prime deer stalking areas in the country. Everyone from experienced stalkers to novices are welcome and we pride ourselves on the percentage of return and regular customers we have. This leads us to our newest venture – Hockham Deer Stalking Supplies, again born from necessity, stalking clients were frequently asking our advice about the best supplies, equipment and clothing for stalking, so we decided to start an on-line shop, offering a service where only products that we use or have tried and tested ourselves will be sold.
